  • How do I join The Cinema Social Club?

    Joining is easy! Just click on our Join Now
    page, fill out a short form, and you’re all set. We’ll get in touch with the details of our next outing.

  • What is the cost to join the club?

    We charge a competitive flat rate for the day, similar to what you would pay for a one-on-one support worker outing. This covers your movie ticket, transportation, and post-movie refreshments. 

  • Where do the movie outings take place?

    Our movie outings are held at local cinemas close to your home. We choose cinemas that are accessible and comfortable for our members.

  • What types of movies do you watch?

    We select a wide range of movies to cater to all tastes, including the latest releases and timeless classics. Once you fill out the survey we get a better idea of what movies you like or don’t like and will consider your preferences when organising an outing. 

  • I have dietary restrictions. Can you accommodate them during the post-movie cafĂ© visit?

    Absolutely! Please let us know your dietary restrictions when you sign up, and we will do our best to accommodate them at the café.

  • Is transportation provided?

    Yes, we provide pick-up and drop-off services from your residence to the cinema and back. We use comfortable cars, mini-vans, or mini-buses, depending on the size of the group.

  • Do you require payment upfront?

    No, once the day has completed the  amount is charged to your service provider.  

  • Can family members or caregivers accompany me on the outing?

    Absolutely, they can join us, however they will need to purchase their movie ticket on the day. They will have to provide their own food and drink. If we have spare spots for transportation we can accommodate them, however it’s best they provide their own transportation to the cinema either with the club member or meet the club at a disclosed location given on the day. 

  • What safety measures are in place during the outings?

    Depending on the size of the group we tend to allocate two support workers to accompany the group. Therefore if anyone needs emergency assistance we are able to divide support workers up, one to accommodate the club member in need and the other to manage the group. All support workers who accompany The Cinema Social Club on outings have been vetted and hold the most up to date qualifications such as first aid training, police checks and have been vaccinated.

  • How can I provide feedback about my experience with the club?

    We love hearing from our members! You can provide feedback directly via email, phone, or through our Feedback Form  on the website. Been to one of our events and want to provide feedback too? Here’s the link to share any words of kindness you have.

  • What package does this outing take funds out of?

    The Cinema Social Club falls under the Home Care Package. We provide social and community access support. The cost covers the transport and support worker's time. Please note that the movie ticket, food, and drink are not included in these fees; these are costs associated with running The Cinema Social Club. All billing through the Home Care Package will be specifically for transportation and the time of the support worker.
